I had a session recently with a client who wanted to learn how to embody gratitude. We talked about how beautiful it is to choose these higher frequencies on the days when they do not come easily. We live in a world of duality. There is shadow and there is light. Choosing to look toward the light is an act of resistance. It is easy to be caught in the darkness. I am not saying there are not days where I feel the weight of it too. But I refuse to stay in the place where everything is bleak and doom.
I see the goodness in people. I see it in random acts of kindness between strangers. I see it when people work together to help one another. This choice to focus on love and kindness is what I mean by holding the frequency of optimism. It is not about ignoring the hard things. It is about deciding which reality you are going to feed.

The frequency of optimism is a life force energy and an enlightened frequency that exists outside our personal emotional state. It is a divine gift that helps us see possibilities and kindness in the world, even during stressful or dark times. We have a lot coming at us all the time. The level to which we are all online means that news and global events are a constant part of our daily lives. It is a lot to process. When I look at the world, I see the duality. One has to exist for the other to exist. We have night and day, shadow and light.
I refuse to believe that being human means being complacent or pliable in the face of darkness. I choose to believe in hope. I choose to be optimistic. Choosing to believe in these things is one of the biggest acts of resistance I can offer. It is a way of saying that I will not be defined by the bleakness. I believe the darkness is intentional to make the masses feel powerless. The power I do have is my choice to see the beauty and the love that exists in human beings.
I often look for and see stories that remind me of the love and kindness in people. There was a story recently about a dog stuck in a flood in a concrete canal. People formed a human chain to save that dog. They risked themselves to pull the dog to safety. Those acts of love happen every day. They remind us that at our core, we are loving beings full of kindness. I choose to focus on that.
Can Reiki help me feel optimistic if I am exhausted?
There are cycles in life where things feel personally hard. We go through grief, health challenges, or dark nights of the soul. In those moments, it is okay to not feel okay. You do not have to bypass your reality or pretend you are happy.
