About Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation, stress reduction, and healing through the laying on of hands. It’s based on the concept of a life force energy that flows within us, influencing our health and well-being. Reiki promotes balance; low energy can lead to illness, while high energy enhances happiness and health.

Reiki is often used to address physical, emotional, and mental imbalances, aiming to restore harmony and enhance one’s sense of balance and calmness. Because Reiki is spiritually guided, it can also be used as a method of spiritual exploration.

The term Reiki combines “Rei” (meaning “Higher Power” or “God’s Wisdom”) and “Ki” (referring to “life force energy”). Reiki is a spiritually guided energy that, when channeled, feels like a radiant glow, benefiting body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

This natural healing method complements medical treatments, and its benefits extend to people of all backgrounds and ages. Learning Reiki doesn’t require belief; it’s passed on through attunements given during classes by Reiki Masters. Reiki’s non-religious nature emphasizes harmony, and promotes peaceful living.

TLDR: Reiki healing is based on the belief in a universal life force energy that flows through all living beings. The practitioner acts as a channel to transmit this healing energy to the recipient.

Expanded version:

  • Energy Channeling: The Reiki practitioner, who has been attuned to the Reiki energy, acts as a conduit for the healing energy. They don’t use their personal energy; instead, they tap into the limitless universal life force energy.
  • Intent and Focus: The practitioner sets their intention for healing, aiming to promote balance and well-being in the recipient. They focus on connecting to the energy and directing it where it’s needed.
  • Hands-On or Hands-Off: The practitioner may place their hands lightly on or near the recipient’s body, depending on the comfort level and the practitioner’s training. The energy flows through the practitioner’s hands to the recipient.
  • Energy Flow: Reiki energy flows naturally to where it’s needed most. It’s not directed by the practitioner’s conscious thoughts but guided by the recipient’s energy and the inherent wisdom of the body.
  • Balancing and Healing: Reiki energy works on various levels—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. It’s believed to clear energy blockages, promote relaxation, and stimulate the body’s natural healing processes.
  • Recipient’s Response: Individuals experience Reiki differently. Some report sensations of warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation. Others may experience emotional release or heightened well-being during or after the session.
  • Self-Healing: Reiki not only facilitates external healing but also encourages the recipient’s own self-healing abilities. It supports the body’s natural ability to maintain balance and harmony.
  • Holistic Approach: Reiki addresses the whole person, considering not only physical symptoms but also emotional and mental aspects. It’s a complementary practice that can work alongside conventional medical treatments.
  • Multiple Sessions: While some people feel immediate effects, Reiki is often best experienced over a series of sessions. Regular sessions can help maintain energy balance and foster deeper healing.

It’s important to note that while many individuals and practitioners report positive experiences with Reiki, its mechanisms are not fully understood or scientifically proven. Reiki healing is often regarded as a holistic approach that supports overall well-being and relaxation.

About Reiki Classes

Reiki classes are courses where individuals learn the principles and techniques of Reiki, an energy healing modality, to channel universal life force energy for healing and balance.

Consider taking a Reiki class to promote personal healing, reduce stress, improve overall well-being, enhance spiritual growth, and potentially heal others.

There are typically three main levels:

  • Usui/Holy Fire 3 Reiki I&II: Introduction, self-healing, and hands-on healing for others. Learning distant healing and using symbols to enhance energy flow. Learn the foundational principles of Reiki, receive attunements, and explore techniques from both levels, including basic self-healing, using symbols for energy work, and extending healing to others. Other names can be Reiki Level 1 (Shoden) Reiki Level 2 (Okuden).
  • Usui/Holy Fire 3 Reiki Master (level III): You are qualified to take this course 6 months after your Reiki 1&2. Deepening the practice, teaching others, and attuning students to Reiki energy. Reiki Master is an advanced level of Reiki training beyond Reiki 1 and 2. It involves a deeper connection to the Reiki energy and the acquisition of additional symbols and techniques. Reiki Masters are equipped to teach and attune others to Reiki, share the knowledge and practices. This level emphasizes personal and spiritual growth, and it’s often considered a step towards becoming a Reiki Master Teacher who can pass on the Reiki lineage to others. You are qualified to take this course 6 months after your Reiki 1&2. Another name for Reiki Level 3 can be Shinpiden.
  • Holy Fire 3 Karuna Reiki: You are qualified to take this course 6 months after Reiki Master.  is a type of energy healing practice that evolved from Usui Reiki. It focuses on compassion and healing on a deeper emotional and spiritual level. Karuna Reiki practitioners use specific symbols and techniques to channel healing energy to address emotional wounds, past traumas, and promote overall well-being. It is considered a more advanced and nuanced form of Reiki, emphasizing a greater connection to empathy and universal compassion. You are qualified to take this course 6 months after Reiki Master.
  • ICRT Animal Reiki 1&2: You are qualified to take this course after Reiki 2 from any lineage. Animal Reiki energy received in this course is its own energy. It is a different energy source than human reiki. The placement given in the class will attune and unify the Animal Reiki energy with your existing Reiki energy and symbols. The Animal Reiki Course includes the Animal Reiki Placement which gives the practitioner the ability to channel the Animal Reiki Energy. This course also includes practitioner skills, tools, and techniques. This class is open to all lineages.
  • ICRT Animal Reiki Master: You are qualified to take this course after Animal Reiki 1&2 and Reiki Master. The Animal Reiki Master course provides the Animal Reiki energy, as well as the tools and techniques needed to practice, share Reiki with animals, and teach Animal Reiki with skill and expertise. You will learn the deeper tools and techniques for sessions, as well as how to teach the tools and techniques for your Animal Reiki class as a Master practitioner. After completion of this course you will be able to teach Animal Reiki I & II and Animal Reiki Master level classes, both online and in-person.
