Introduction to William Rand

William Lee Rand, is the founder and president of The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), The Center for Reiki Research, Reiki in Hospitals, and The Reiki Membership Association. He has authored Reiki, The Healing Touch, The Reiki Touch Kit, Reiki for a New Millennium, The Spirit of Reiki (along with Frank Arjava Petter and Walter Lubeck) and over 100 Reiki articles and 12 CDs. From 1993 to 1995, with the help of some of his students, he developed the Karuna Reiki® system of healing. He is the publisher and editor-in-chief of the Reiki News Magazine as well as editor of the Online Reiki Newsletter. In 1997 William traveled to the North Pole to place a World Peace Crystal Grid, dedicated to world peace, and placed another one at the South Pole in 1999. In 2004 he placed a Peace Grid in Jerusalem, in 2005 at the ICRT teaching center in Southfield, Michigan and in 2009 at the Maluhia Lani Reiki Center on Maui. In January, 2014, after receiving guidance through his spiritual advisor, Janice Jones, he began teaching Holy Fire Reiki. William has dedicated his life to Reiki and has practiced and taught full time in classes around the world for the past 25 years. He encourages all Reiki practitioners to work together in harmony to bring peace to the earth.

Amber: When did you first receive Holy Fire Reiki? Gokul: I would like to know more about Holy Fire Reiki. If I learn Holy Fire Karuna Reiki will I be able to teach Holy Fire ART/Master training as well? I’ll answer this one, Linda: Colleen says “The ignition to the Holy Fire master symbol are much simpler because the connection is direct from Source” I thought all the time that this is where Reiki comes from. Deb: Can you go into greater depth about what you felt, sensed, etc. when you were given the Holy Fire Reiki? And how did you feel/what did you notice? In our conversations you often talk about how you follow Gods plan for you, and I watch you do that, and I always ask you how you do it so completely, because you are really good at it, and I would like to be better at it. Would you talk about what it means to follow Gods plan for you. How has Reiki helped you do that? How has Holy Fire Reiki affected your ability to be in the flow of Divine Guidance. Holy Fire Reiki has told me that it has come to the earth at this time as an answer to our individual and collective prayers. You have said that years ago you decided that with the help of Reiki, you would focus on your spiritual purpose and you began to say your prayer with conviction each day, “Guide me and heal me that I might be of greater service to others.” Would you tell us this prayer and how has your journey through Reiki and now the evolution of Holy Fire Reiki been an answer to your prayers?

The Spring edition of Reiki News magazine is full of new and current information about the evidenced based history of Reiki. In one of the articles you interviewed Japanese Reiki Master Hiroshi Doi’s about his new book, Iyashino Gendai Reiki Ho, A Modern Reiki Method of Healing. The article by William Rand: Reiki Before Usui The article by William Rand: The Origin of the Usui Reiki Master Symbol In the interview, Doi Sensei said that you contributed to the development and translation of the book by reviewing the important concepts and helping them to express the information in a form that would be more easily understood by the Western mind. I am sure you learned so much from Doi Sensei, can you talk about who he is, and how his book verifies facts about the history of Reiki and what you learned from him? When I think of the information presented; what stands out to me is that Reiki has evolved itself from its beginning. Can you talk about the original purpose of Usui Reiki and how it developed from the beginning to the present as practiced by the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai? One of the concepts he talks about that fascinates me is the understanding of the significance of Usui Sensei’s intention when he was on his quest on Mt. Kurama. Doi Sensei says that he was seeking to attain the state of “Anshin Ritsumei.” Can you explain what this means and how Usui Sensei attained this state and how it influenced the development of his Reiki practices. And then talk about how Reiki changed from then until now? Can you tell us about Reiki before Usui? In the article, The Origin of the Usui Reiki Master Symbol, I was fascinated to find that Mrs. Takata is the person who added the Usui master symbol to the system of Reiki. It was another huge part of the evolution of Reiki. In that article you state “With the understanding that Usui Reiki was meant to be developed, we can only wonder about the improvements that are in store for us as we continue to grow as a healer and follow the guidance Reiki provides.” How do you feel this has influenced the evolution of Reiki in regards to Holy Fire Reiki?
